President (2-year term):
- Serves as the chief
executive officer of the Association
- Presides at all
business meetings
- Appoints the
Chairperson of all committees not otherwise named under
the Constitution, with the concurrence of the Executive
Board
- Makes appointments to
fill expiring terms of other officers
- Defines the duties of
other officers and committees when not stated in the
Constitution or By-Laws
- Represents the
Association in an official capacity on state and
national levels (i.e. testifies on legislative issues,
attends state policy workshops)
- Represents NHSLHA
Inc. on a joint committee with representatives from the
Department of Education
- Promotes the
interests of the Association and its purposes
President Elect (1-year term):
- Assists the President
in fulfilling the duties of the office
- Serves as President
in fulfilling the duties of the office
- Is trained to assume
the Presidency for the following term of office
- Is responsible for
nominations to the Executive Board
- Assists with ethical
and legislative issues
Past President (1-year term):
- Assists the President
in fulfilling the duties of the office
- Serves as President
in the absence of the President
- Is responsible for
nominations to the Executive Board
- Assists with ethical
and legislative issues
Vice-President of Governmental Affairs
(2-year term):
- Serves as President
in the absence of the President, President Elect, or
Past President
- Serves as Chair

- Appoints Chair to

Professional Development (2-year term):
- Serves as Chair of
the Program Committee
- Conducts the
educational program at NHSLHA Inc. sponsored conferences
- Serves as a liaison
with CEU Coordinator
Vice-President of
Public Relations (2-year term):
- Serves as Newsletter
editor
- Appoints Chair to
MBHSM Committee
- Serves as Chair of
the Public Relations Committee
Vice-President of
Membership (2-year term):
- Serves as Secretary
in the absence of the Secretary
- Is responsible for
the recruitment and tracking of membership
- Is responsible for
updating membership directory annually
- Is responsible for
mailings
Treasurer (1-year term):
- Maintains all
financial records of the Association
- Provides all
necessary financial information and documents to the
Association's accountant for the preparation of all
federal and state tax reports 30 days prior to
submission deadlines
- Collects, receives,
manages and disperses funds as mandated by the Executive
Board and the Association By-Laws
- Presents an annual
report to the members of the Association and provides a
financial statement at each Executive Board meeting
- Develops, in
conjunction with the Executive Board, a prospective
budget for the upcoming fiscal year and presents this to
the membership in the Annual Report included in the
August edition of the Newsletter
Secretary (1-year term):
- Handles Association
correspondence at the direction of the President
- Distributes and
tabulates the ballots for all elections, resolutions,
Constitutional amendments and By-Law revisions
- Notifies Executive
Board members of all meetings
- Records accurate
minutes of all Executive Board and Association business
meetings
- Copies and
distributes Executive Board Meeting minutes to each
Executive Board member
- Submits Association
Business Meeting minutes to the Newsletter Editor for
publication in the next edition
Advisors
The Advisors shall consist
of two representatives from the profession of
Speech-Language Pathology, one representative from the
profession of Audiology, one from either profession,
representing a New Hampshire college or university
communication disorders program, and one student
representative from either profession.
Advisors (2-year
term):
- Serve on the
Executive Board in an advisory role providing continuity
to the Executive Board
- Assist in the
development and implementation of the long range plan
- Forward newsworthy
articles to the Newsletter editor
- Assist in the
development and coordination of Better Hearing and
Speech Month Activities
- Assist with
governmental affairs
- Provide input on
continuing education needs of the membership
Specific
responsibilities of Advisors are as follows:
- The Audiology Advisor
shall serve as liaison for Audiology affairs.
- The University
Advisor shall serve as liaison between NHSLHA Inc. and
the university system in matters pertaining to
professional education and student membership concerns.
In addition, he/she shall be responsible for promoting
the Association and recruiting student representation in
NHSLHA Inc. He/she shall recruit one student member to
attend Executive Board meetings on a regular basis.
